Any Charter School Jobs in Science in Wake County NC?

Here's a place for you to start http://www.ncpublicschools.org/charterschools/schools/ It has a list of all the charter schools in NC. I'm not sure what cities are in Wake County, but if you know what city you are moving into/or are in...then you just have to hit CNTRL F when you're on that page and enter the name of the city then hit enter. It will automatically tell you if and where that city name is. Good luck in your job hunt!

Misdemenor Larceny Charge Wake County?
Misdemenor Larceny Charge Wake County?
I have a misdemeanor Larceny charge in wake county on my record from 2007. I have already done a first offenders program and I was wondering if I could get it expunged from my record. I have clinicals and I am not sure if this would prohibit me from progressing in school.

Wake County in what state? I am on the East Coast so I am assuming it might be North Carolina? The link below might help you. Normally "expungement" is to help youthful or first time offenders who have gone through a diversionary program. If you have met all the terms of the program including but not limited to any probation, restitution, and any and all court orders set forth by the judge. If so you should be eligible for expungement. Good luck.

What assessment can I use to prepare my child for kindergarten?
What assessment can I use to prepare my child for kindergarten?
My son is four and in pre school. I want to make sure that we are preparing him with the necessary tools to be successful. We are preparing to enter the Wake County school system and need to know the requirements.

If this is a public school, they really can't hav any "requirements" other than age-eligibility. They have to accept all children age-eligible. But we love that you would like to help prepare your child. Having him in preschool will be a tremondous help. Experiencing this social setting, being with peers, having to take responsibility of self, becoming more independent is so beneficial. With the standards in Kindergarten now, it's almost necessary for the child to be up to par in the social-emotional development area before they can truly learn what is being taught. As for cognitive development...I suggest you get onto your State's Department of Education website and download the Kindergarten standards. Now, understand that these are what are expected by the end of Kindergarten so you just work your way toward these goals. The more he has experienced the quicker and easier it will be for him to master the concepts in Kindergarten.

Can my class sue my school system?
Can my class sue my school system?
Yesterday, March 3rd, Wake County School System, in North Carolina, voted to district schools by area, which depends on socioeconomic status. As much as I hate it, my city is divided mostly into Black and White neighborhoods. In effect, the school system has just voted to segregate schools by race. For a class project in my Youth and Law class, we are considering suing the board. Can we legally do that?

Anybody who can find the county courthouse and come up with the filing fee can sue anybody. The issue is whether you will win. In school cases, there are numerous court precedents favoring de-segregation, but there are also many that support "neighborhood" schools. In your particular matter, you absolutely need to know whether there is a history of the issue in the courts! If so, take a look at any settlements and/or orders. Assuming no history in the courts, you need to look at WHY the district has apparently decided to go with neighborhood schools -- costs of transportation that will be saved, etc. Get a small group together to trace the history of the school cases, from Plessy v Ferguson to Brown v Board of Ed to more recent cases, both in the historic "north" and in the historic "south". Good luck!

You can't sue unless you've received damages as a result of the segregation. To file a lawsuit would indicate that you're seeking compensation from the school board for losses that their actions caused to you. So unless you've actually suffered a loss, you can't file a lawsuit. You could try pressing charges though.

I'm looking to relocate to North Carolina to teach. I am looking at a list of jobs available at Wake County Schools and many of them say something about tracks. An example would be: Third Grade, Track 1. What does this mean?

In Utah they have tracks in elementary school, I am not sure if it is the same in NC but it refered to the times the kids went to school, meaning when they had their breaks each track had a different scheduled break.

Wake County AP Courses & GPA?
Wake County AP Courses & GPA?
I go to a school in wake county, in NC I'm on my second semester Junior classes. My GPA right now is a weighted 1.75 and a unweighted 1.625 I know thats very poorly mainly due to the fact that I missed a lot of days due to illnesses. So far Im passing my classes with A's and B's and one C that I'm going to raise up to a B. I'm signing up for my senior classes next week and I plan on taking 4 AP classes and 4 Honor Classes. Do taking AP classes boost up your GPA if you pass it with an A or B? and by how much? also does taking Honors classes boost up your GPA and by how much? Idk what the policy is for wake county but in some schools if you take an AP or honors class and pass it, they add a few points to your GPA. I'm hoping to have a GPA of atleast 3.0 by the end of my senior year next year. I want to attend a 4 year college. Is it possible for me to do so if I make all A's?

Is it against Wake County Public School Rules or any other rules?
Right when me and my friend walked in to health class my health teacher told us that we had to put our purses on his desk. My friend did but i didn't. I started to take stuff out of my purse and put it in my pockets but he yelled at me. I put it all back but the mirror. I started to cry and held to my purse tightly since after all it was 140$ and he threatened to call my mom! I just cried and stuck it on his desk!! So please find out if there are any rules against what he did oh and he gave our purses back at the end of class. It is a wake county public school in north carolina if that changes anything!!

Either your spelling or your grammar, or both, need improvement. Without a context, I think you are trying to ask "What wakes country schools daily?" To which I would reply, "Schools don't wake up, students do. In the country, chances are, students are woken up by roosters or other farm animals, if not by alarm clocks, or their parents."

Wake County Public School System, Black Children, and the NAACP?
Wake County Public School System, Black Children, and the NAACP?
I now its long, but its well worth ready and commenting on. Lets look at the city’s problems: 1.) GANGS!!!! Raleigh Police Chief Harry Dolan said the city has a "significant" gang problem that requires a community response. Forced bussing has influenced many young Africa descent males into gangs. (Don’t bring up racism, recall the gang brawl on a Saturday night inside Triangle Town Center that involved as many as 300 young blacks. A 15-year-old was stabbed, and a police officer injured!) These 10 to 16 year olds would of never been involved in such behavior if it was not for others being bused miles from other parts of the city into their own and influenced these students. A child gets sent all over the county to go to school and feels unsafe because they're away from their home turf and don't know anyone, so they join a gang for protection. 2.) OVERCROWDING! Look at Wakefield. Every football field and soccer field is covered in classroom trailers. After school programs are needed to keep children away from crime, to build character, and sadly…bad parents. Yes bad parents, ones that are in gangs, doing/selling drugs, in jail, or to rich to care. Only the best of the students are on the basketball and football teams. What about the thousands of others that are looking to be apart of something? NOTHING! (Sadly Gangs allow these students to be apart of something that others look up to.) 3.) “GOOD SCHOOLS†what Wake County parents don’t know… When a school is under performing what happens? Bring in better teachers? Start after school programs? NOPE! They bus good achieving students to that school and bus the uneducated students to a better school. This does nothing to help the student but it sure does make the school look better on paper. Just BS! 5.) DRUGS: Wake County has almost ended drug searches in the schools because if the students don’t get caught with drugs on the school ground. The school “does not have a drug problem†on paper. WAKE UP PEOPLE! Bring the drug searches back into the schools! Once Wake County goes back to neighborhood schools. Hopefully the drugs will become more localized and the police can fix the problem schools one by one. 4.) “BROKEN WINDOW THEORY†Look this up online but…This theory suggests that a disorderly environment sends a message that no one is in charge, thus increasing fear, weakening community controls, and inviting criminal behavior. It further maintains that stopping minor offenses and restoring greater order can prevent serious crime. In traditional policing, they go from call to call, and that is it. Raleigh police is under paid and over worked. This practice of cleaning up Raleigh needs to be down ASAP. Remove the graffiti the next day to prevent others from doing it and send out a strong message to these children that we don’t put up with it. It will better our communities as a whole. 5.) Homes and neighborhoods would become more valuable because they have neighborhood schools with local children. Local children have pride in their school, classmates, teachers, and community. How do you expect a student to have pride and join groups like student government to better the school and community when they live so far away? They don't and join groups like gangs to feel that pride. 6.) Many black children simply don’t want to study and see being educated as “acting white“ or called “Gay“ by their black peers. These students generally come from single-parent families who impose no discipline. These students are allowed to disrupt and terrorize schools by politically correct school boards afraid of civil rights lawyers and racist groups like the NAACP. For that reason, most large cities like Wake County have seen “white flight.†White flight is where wealthier families move to suburbs to escape the public school systems of large cities....This is the start of the Broken Window Theory. (as stated before) Once the wealthy educated students and families move out, the schools will continuing to go down hill from there. Stop wasting money and time on the failed politically correct school board and city. The truth must be accepted. Of course, every school must be equal in talent levels of teaching staff and materials on hand. By following these suggestions, we can stop pretending that more money will solve the problem. Political correctness is a lie and many cities are starting to admit the obvious after wasting 40 years and billions of dollars. 7.)Take the millions of wasted money on forced bussing and place it into a newer, cleaner CAT city bus program that is strongly needed in Wake County, after school programs, The Raleigh Police to clean up the city’s gang problem, and Vocational Classes. Face the fact that every student will not go to college and having a skill trade and making money is better than having a drop out and living the life of crime. Whats your thoughts?

Rosetta Stone is supposed to be the best, but it's expensive. A friend of mine tried a program called "Rocket Spanish" and said it was just as good and a lot cheaper. Hope that helps.

Why is the Wake County School Board So Dumb?
Why is the Wake County School Board So Dumb?
The Wake County School board passed a 5-4 vote to end Desegregation. They ended the diversity policy. They took into no account what the students affected would feel. Why are southerners so crazy?

I am 46 yo. I went threw this school system. It is one of the worst systems in this county, look at the stats. My parents worked very hard to live in a middle class neighborhood. When I went to Jr. High School I did not go the school where my older sister and neighborhood kids did. I was bussed to a section 8 neighborhood school. I can tell you from first hand experience that this was devastating to me, my friends, and my family. I did not attend college as I was bussed out to low rent neighborhood high school. I am average guy. Most kids that were average went to collage before busing. There is a whole generation of us who have paid very negative effected by bussing law. I am so grateful that they have changed this communist like law. A lot has changed in Raleigh in 40 years. That section 8 neighborhood has been demolished and replaced with incubator businesslike park. This county is more diverse than most because of Research Triangle Park and all of the multitudes of fortune 500 companies that do business here. Did some of these African Americans receive a better education? Yes, and I know some of them today. These kids came from the type of families who would ensure they received a good eduction no matter what school they went too. I am grateful my kids will not get bussed out of my mixed neighborhood. We may not have the best shiniest school, but I am proud of what I have accomplished with my "intercity bussed out of my middle class neighborhood" eduction. I am proud of my little mixed neighborhood and I want my kids to go to school right down the street from home where the can walk home and not get bussed out of here 30 miles away to some rich neighborhood school like I should have gone to. Maybe they will not go to college like me.
