How is this for a movie plot?
I'm in an Advanced Video Productions Class at school, and as a finals project last semester we made movie trailers. Mine was simply an action/comedy that I titled. "Fortunes". The basic summary is that this kid accidentally stumbles upon a map to a fortune buried by the town founder 140 years ago. A corrupt county commissioner hires a ruthless gothic bounty hunter to get the map from the kid. Very funny/action-y movie. But, since after filming the movie trailer, I decided to make it into a feature-length movie and possibly submit it into a local film festival. For the whole movie plot I wrote a paradigm, shown below. It doesn't include the script (just an event list), which leaves out a lot of the comedy, but you'll be able to find some funny in there. Here you go: "Beginning (Act 1): -We find Jacob Calkins (Main Character) on the shores of the Willamette River in Keizer Rapids Park, on a lounge chair, asleep with a fishing pole in one hand and a root beer spilling on the ground with another. It's sunrise on a Monday morning, and a park ranger comes up to Jacob as he is sleeping, writes a ticket, and slaps him in the head with it to wake him up. The park ranger states that he was getting a ticket for being on park grounds after hours, and Jacob mentions the sun is only starting to set. The park ranger says it is sunrise and shows him the time. Jacob panics, packs up all his stuff, and runs back to the parking lot and hustles off to school. -Marion County Commissioner Alan Richmond is talking to Oregon Governor Ted Kulongowski about the mysterious "disappearance" of over $1 million of county funds for a road maintenance grant, and stating that he (the governor) will be heading an investigation to find this money. After he leaves, Commissioner Richmond tells his assistant (and one of his partners in crime) that they have to replace this money quick or they're screwed. -We also get to meet Spencer Davenport, Jacob's best friend, and the girl of Jacob's dreams, Jennifer Davidson, who's friends with Jacob. Her birthday is coming up, and Jacob wants to throw the ultimate surprise party for her at the Keizer Grange Hall. Toward the end of Act 1, Jacob goes there and asks about renting the place for an afternoon, but the price is way too high for him. Plot Point #1 Jacob arrives at Keizer City Hall (Which is under construction) to pay his ticket. On his way back, he trips over a partially buried strongbox. Curious, he opens it, and finds a map of Keizer, dated 1869, and a letter from the town's founder, John Brooks Keizur. It says he left a fortune buried somewhere in town, where if you draw a line from landmark one to landmark four, and a line from landmark two to landmark three, the point where the lines meet is where it is buried. Problem is, the landmarks in the letter have changed in the last 140 years. Eager to find it, Jacob takes off to the county historical society. -He arrives there, where Commissioner Richmond is talking with historical society director. While leaving, the Commissioner overhears Jacob talking to him about the map. A few days later, the Commissioner tries to bribe Jacob into handing over the map. When that fails, he hires a Gothic bounty hunter name Ethan Steele to retrieve it. Act Two -Jacob and the Historical Society Director find Landmark one. -Ethan Steele tries to con Jacob into giving it to him. When that fails, he tries to rob Jacob at gunpoint.Fortunately, Spencer (who just arrived and saw what happened), sneaks up and beans Steele in the head with a shovel. Jacob and the Historical Society director find plot point two. -One night, Jacob is sitting on the hood of his pickup, stargazing. Jennifer, who was wandering around aimlessly in the park where he was at, finds him and joins him. The two start talking, and eventually Jacob gets feeling really comfortable and mentions his crush on Jennifer. Jennifer mentions she had feelings for him two, and the wind up kissing on the hood of his truck. Jacob and the Historical Society Director find plot point three. He is really obsessed with finding it now. Upset that Jacob is spending all his time on the map, Jennifer blows up at Jacob and tells him that she never wants to see him again. This causes a scene a little after that where Jacob is crying and singing to Sheryl Crow while driving through town. Plot Point #2 (Climax) During Jacob's little karaoke session, Steele breaks into his house and makes off with the map and Jacob's ID. He then proceeds to rob a 7-Eleven and leave Jacob's ID at the scene. Jacob gets arrested the following morning. Spencer sees it the following day on an episode of COPS. -Ethan Steele and the Commissioner use the old county records to find the final landmark. The lines intersect at Keizer Rapids Park. They plan to dig it up tomorrow, and just in case, they kidnap Jennifer as an insurance policy. Act Three (Conclusion) Steele pays Jacob a visit in jail in jail the next morning just to rub it in his face about how he framed him for robbery, kidnapped Jennifer, and is planning to dig up the treasure at Keizer Rapids Park. After seeing his best friend on COPS, Spencer sneaks into the jail and finds Jacob's cell. A police officer sneaks up and points his gun at Spencer, telling him to freeze/ Spencer turns around and unsuccessfully tries to bribe him with a donut. The cops goes to shove him into the cell, but Jacob charges out, they both grab the cop, and force him into the cell, swipe his keys out of the lock and escape, leaving the cop nothing to do but munch on the donut they left behind. They head off on the road to the park, only to be spotted by Ethan Steele, who is en route to meet up with Commissioner Richmond. This sparks a race to the park between Ethan Steele and Jacob and Spencer. Steele wins. Once Steele arrives, he tells the commissioner, who is already digging up the treasure, and has Jennifer tied up right beside him , that they need to move before Jacob gets there and finds out where they are digging. They run off into some nearby woods just as Jacob and Spencer pull up. They chase them down and Jacob and Steele get into a fistfight while Spencer tries to free Jennifer. The Commissioner doubles back to where the treasure was buried and calls the police and tells them to go get Jacob. Jacob wins this epic fight, and they all walk off with Steele, half-conscious, in tow. They come out of the woods just as the police, along with the Historical Society Director and Governor Kulongowski show up. The Commissioner says, "Get him!" but instead he gets arrested, along with Ethan Steele. Jacob and Spencer dig up a chest, and open it.Inside is an old photo album, an old teddy bear, the original deed to the Keizur property, and old baseball and a glove, a locket, a pocket watch, some books, and a note from John Brooks Keizur that reads, "Thank you for taking the time to find my fortunes. Surprised? These things mean the world to me, along with my dear family, whom I love very much. While these may be worthless to you, there's a small reward in the hidden compartment of this chest. Consider it a token of my thanks for digging up my old treasures. I only ask that you give them to a museum so people can feel the same joy as I did when I looked at them." In the small compartment was a sack of gold that back then was worth $5,000. The historical society director offered to let Jacob keep the gold if he could take the rest. Jacob obliged. Also, him and Jennifer make up, and the governor laughs as Spencer tells him the whole story. ("You really tricked a cop with a donut?") Three weeks later, Jacob is asleep at the same spot he was at the beginning of the movie, again with a fishing pole in his hand. Spencer runs up to him and goes, "Jacob! Wake up man, you're gonna miss the party!" Jacob arrives and helps with the last minute decorations. The whole town is there, along with the Historical Society Director and Governor Kulongowski. Jennifer arrives, and has fun for a while, when finally her and Jacob decide to sneak away to the park. (The governor, Spencer, and the Historical Society Director see this, and they just laugh about it), as Jacob and Jennifer drive off into the sunset together. The End" So, what do you guys think? Would it win any awards? Any Comments and criticism is accepted. Whoever can do the best evaluation, though, gets Best answer. Thanks! Tyler: Well, I'm in high school right now, and although I really didn't have an intended audience besides comedy and action fans, it is based on a high school student and originated as a class project, so yeah, I guess you could say that. I didn't know about the title. I thought of some others, like "Hometown Treasures" and "The Fortune Of Keizer", but to me, "Fortunes" seemed to fit it the best. Like I said though, I'm open to any suggestions, so if you can think of a better title please feel free to share.

the title needs to be changed to something that flows better. the movie really feels like your appealing to a younger crowd. is this a kids film? what is your target audience? also this story reminds me a lot of the movie without a paddle.

Parents: Doesn't this make much much more sense?
Parents: Doesn't this make much much more sense?
In a county in florida they do school time differently. Elementary schools start early around 7-7:30. Kids this age can't be left home in the morning by themselves to get ready, this way parents don't have to pay for day care. They can just drop them off before work. Kids those ages go to sleep earlier and get up earlier, so the start time is perfect. Schools still run the after school program till the same time. Middle and High schools start at 9-930 Teens these ages can stay home alone and get ready on time. Teens stay up later and get up later. Plus their circardian rhythm makes them tired at 10-11 and wake up at 8. So the start time again is perfect. Most kids go off to college anyways and take afternoon and evening classes so this is another 4 years they don't have to get up early. And by the time they are out of college their bodies have matured and would adjust to early morning jobs and such. And most jobs are a 9-5 type deal just like school would range. Except school would be 9-3. And 2 hours for sports, if they play one. Doesn't this make much much more sense? My second high school was 7:20 to 2:30. 7 hours. My high school in NY was from 7:25 to 1:50. even shorter So no, school days don't have to be 8 hours. My second high school has classes that were about 55 mins long. Each class was nearly an hour and we had 7 a day. Thats plently of time. Oh and compass it isnt 8 hours of learning, there is lunch and gym those you dont learn anything. So really your kid isn't learning 8 hours. Yes, I know gym is good. You get into shape but you don't learn anything. This question is about whether or not schools should have teens go later and younger kids go earlier.

Not really. that only leaves 6 hours in school for the high school and middle schoolers when they are supposed to be 8 hour days. well in my state the law states in order for the school to get goverment funding they must be in sesion 8 hours a day. Besides as a parent and paying taxes to the school wouldnt you want your child in for 8 hours a day learning as much as they can, if my child has a chance to learn i want him to take it!

That would put too much of an undue economic burden on the school system for the buses. It would require multiple routes running over the same area- Once to pick up the grade school kids & then again over the same area to pick up middle school/Jr High & High School kids. The costs would be too much for the bus company or the school board (whoever furnishes the buses) in payroll for the drivers, & fuel & other costs on the buses themselves. Depending on the length of the bus route, the bus that picked up the grade school kids may not be able to drop them off at the school(s) and then make it back to the starting point of the route to go back through to pick up the Jr High/High School kids to get them to their schools in time, based on your time schedule scenarios. This would result in 2, or more, buses being required to run a bus route that only needed 1 bus. That may work out perfectly if all of the younger children were dropped off & picked up at school by their parents & no buses at all were required. And the same for the older kids- they could either walk to school or was old enough to drive to school & the school had ample parking spaces for all of the students driving (this throws in a monkey wrench though due to the Graduated Licenses for teens now- restricted licenses & even the huge cost to have the acreage for all of the students to park on campus if they were legally able to drive themselves to school) A lot of planning was put into the reasoning why school start/dismissal times are how they are today & are based on numerous things. Those times are not just randomly selected by the Board of Education.

Happy birthday to your son! The last time a wish came true for me was Christmas. I was sort of wishing I would get jewelry, but not really holding out much hope for it. I was really surprised to get a beautiful silver and diamond double heart pendant. Santa was very good to me.

Please help me im trying to get into this high-school is my essay okay!!! please help it means alot?
okay im in the 8th grade and im trying to get into this school please help me! Be nice about how I write im only in the 8th grade: As I have grown older I have realized something very important, That when you have a chance to pursue your dreams. To take that chance of doing your dream. That chance is in front of me, and I'm willing to do everything I can, to do what ive always wanted to do. I can see myself being happy, knowing I'm doing what ive always wanted to do. If I can be apart of your culinary arts program, I can assure you I will strive to do my best. I will show you what I can do, and my knowledge of culinary arts. What I hope to get out of this school, is not just a great experience, but a career as well. When I cook all my problems and my thoughts fade away. I feel that I’m achieving something, and doing it because it’s my passion. When I was younger I was always in the kitchen with my mom. Helping her cook, and learning the proper way to cook. I have always felt that cooking is another form of art, you can make a delicious masterpiece, and call it your own. To be proud of what you made, and to be able to share it with others, and to get feed back from them, and improve your masterpiece. To make it the best it can ever be. Although I have learned many things about culinary arts, there is much more to learn. To get deeper inside of the art of cooking. To understand why there are some necessities you must follow. Learning is very important for the mind. The more you learn, the stronger the mind. I hope that I can learn all the essentials in culinary arts. As quoted: “All great achievements require time†(Maya Angelou). To me this means that, to be good at what you do, you must have the time and patience to do it. You cant rush through it, it takes time and practice. As my dad always says to me “practice makes perfectâ€. Even though one can never be perfect, they can still be at the acme point in there lives. I believe everyone can learn something new. I hope that I can wake up every morning, and go to work doing what I love. Sharing my recipes with others, smelling the aromas, tasting the mouth watering food. Hearing the pan sizzling, and seeing the piece of art I have created, would make my life complete. To me cooking is more than skill, its a passion. To have my own restaurant, with the food I have created, having customers, happy with a full stomach. Would make my days even brighter. What I hope to gain from Sussex County Technical School, is an education to expand my knowledge in culinary arts, and do what I love which is to cook. I believe that if I stay focus, and take my time in your culinary classes, I won't let you down. I have so much passion for this there is no way to describe it. I feel like I can do anything when I am cooking, and always looking to do something in the kitchen. Because I want to be the best that I can be. When I grow older, I will still pursue my dream of being a chef. Not a cook but a chef. I want to be one of the top chefs that has ever lived. After I graduate High School, I hope to go to the Institute Of Culinary Education, in New York. To use the skills I hope to get from your school. I want to make the right choices for myself, and to become successful person. Over my middle school experience I have become a bit more open, to do more things. I have joined h2h (here to help), a program ran by my school to help the community, and to give back to others. I also recently signed up for lacrosse for this years season. I was also a cheerleader for three years. I’m looking forward to learning new things, and working well with other people in activities. I know in the future, I will join more clubs to get involved with the school. Such as yearbook and photography. I think getting involved with clubs, can teach you life lessons, on how to work well with others, and develop communication skills, and most of all to be yourself. I hope by me coming to your school, will help my dreams come true, and to guide me through my high-school years. ©

HELP WITH COLLEGE DECISIONS!!!! in case its not clear, i have already applied and im trying to decide which 1?
I want to study communications and major in advertising/marketing because I want to eventually become an entrepreneur. I got into a few different schools (Michigan State, Florida State, Drew, Boston University, and I got wait-listed at Wake Forest). I have ruled out MSU and FSU because they were really my EXTREME safety schools and I am confused about the other 3. Now on one hand, BU has a fantastic communications program and it is in Boston which not only gives me a lot of job opportunities but will be a lot of fun. Drew I liked as a safety, my dad and uncles went there and it was nice but i never fell in love with it. Now the big decision for me i think will be BU and Wake, assuming I get in. The problem with Wake is that it doesn't specialize in communications and I am nervous I am going to be will all Fairfield county people all over again. However, it is significantly higher in the ratings that BU and prestige is EXTREMELY important to both my family and myself. HELP what do i do? I signed up for BU already (meaning i put down the deposit money but that doesnt mean that i payed tuition and if i get into Wake i can still back out of BU) but I'm trying to figure out in the best case scenario: that I get into both schools (or rather Wake since I'm already accepted at BU) what to do then.

what if your man puts something not important in front of his job?
My boyfriend goes to school from 8 am to 11 am. Then sometimes has to be at work at 11:30 am or 3 pm. And we are in a finacial crisis and he needs to make sure he gets his diploma this year. His teacher said that he has to make 90% and higher on all his work to pass THIS year. The past couple of weeks he will wake up, go to school, go hang out with his mom or dad or bother or just decide to go somewhere out of the county just because they ask him to. And he doesnt have time to study for his tests. And to day at 11:30 am he went out of the county right after school with his mom and brother to go pick up a part for his dads truck he is still out of the county at this minute and he has to be to work at 3:00 pm. and he is going to be late. and giving up hours that we really need. am i exaggerating? should i talk to him about it? or should i just leave it alone?

It seems to me like the question is really: why is his family endorsing the irresponsible behavior? Do they not see the value in education and earning money that you do? Something sounds strange here. I hate to put it to you in such a harsh way, but this guy sounds like he's going nowhere fast. Skip ahead in your relationship. Should you two get married and have kids, what happens when he has to pick Junior up from daycare? When you need a night off, is he going to flake on his responsibility then? I'm sure there are wonderful things about him too, but I would seriously evaluate if this guy is someone you can be with for the long term. I think you should talk to him about it, but don't do it in a nagging way where he feels like you're scolding him. Impress upon him how grave of a financial situation you two are in, and that if he doesn't pull his weight, you aren't going to be able to stay together. Obviously, he would rather hang out with his family then go to work (most of us would), but as adults, we have to do lots of stuff, like work, when we would rather be elsewhere. If he can't get on board with that, then you should not shoulder that burden.

North Carolina - Pitt County I have arranged to represent myself for probation?
North Carolina - Pitt County ________________________ ULTIMATE QUESTION: I have arranged to represent myself infront of a judge on the 8th of March to argue my case. What can I do to prepare for this. Should I wear uniform or suit? ________________________ Hello everyone, I need a little bit of advice for the situation I am in. Backstory: Myself: I am 24. Have been enlisted in the Army since the age of 17. I am currently a weapons Sergent. I have been deployed 7 times in areas covering all parts of the Middle East and parts of South America. The Army is currently sending me to school in North Carolina in order to further my career. I am about to be transferred to Alaska to finish up my education and work with a separate unit. I have no criminal record. Great credit (which shows I am a responsibility human being) and have been self sufficient from the age of 15. Situation: I find my self to be an exceedingly nice person. I always make sure to greet every neighbor whenever I move and invite them to cookouts. Friends have told me there isnt a person I couldn't make a friend with. White, Asian, African American, Straight, Gay... whatever, you get the gist. I dont care what you are as long are you are a good person! At my last residence my next door neighbors for reasons unknown to me didnt like me from day one. Over a period of months they called the police multiple times on me for noise violations when I rarely even entertain at my house. I may have music on when working out in the morning, or in the middle of a project but never after dark. Needless to say police knocking on the door to register a complaint (even at times woke me up when I was asleep)... to make a long story short (i know too late) one night after finding out someone had splashed what looks like old dish water on the side of my house next to my front door (closest to them) I had a brief period of bad decision making. I ended up slashing their front right tire out of sheer agitation and anger. Needless to say I was served with an arrest warrant the next day, bailed my self out, and was charged with "Damage to Personal Property Under $50.00" I paid all court costs, offered restitution, and was given 12 months probation, with 6 months supervised (or upon completion of treatment) and required to get substance abuse and anger management treatment. I saw a company down here who did an assessment on me, they said I needed treatment on neither count. I rarely drink, and if I do on the weekends I always call a cab. And I have no anger problems! I am an extremely laid back person! Yes I am in the Army, Yes I do work out, Yes I can control a situation if needs be. But needless to say, going on 8 years in the Armed Forces teaches you an amazing degree of self control and situational analysis. I made one mistake Current Problem: The probation officers supervisor doesnt want to let me off of supervised parole even though I did complete the anger management and substance abuse analysis, but rather wants me to go through a company they have a contract with and pay between 175-250 for treatment I dont need. I have neither the money or time to do this! Also I am being _TRANSFERED_! I have arranged to represent myself infront of a judge on the 8th of March to argue my case. What can I do to prepare for this. Should I wear uniform or suit?

Maybe you should ask your commanding officer. He may not appreciate you wearing your uniform to a court proceeding open to the public. It would reflect negatively on the other law abiding members of the military.

How can a US Citizen be ran out of his country by a illegal
How can a US Citizen be ran out of his country by a illegal
This story is so similar to mine, it make the hair stand on my neck. Dear Sir, I am hoping that you can help me by publicizing my story. Several people have suggested that I get this information in the mainstream news so that America will wake up and see what damage illegal immigrants are doing to our country. I am convinced that we have become a nation of fools, and that foreign-born people know this and use this knowledge to rip us off daily – both as a nation and as individuals. Our legislature appears to be broken, so I am hoping that the power of the press in responsible hands such as yours will heroically turn this country around – at least regarding the scam I am about to illuminate. My story is about my wife, who has used immigration law, family law, and the Violence Against Women’s Act to destroy my career and all that I have spent 40 years working for. This scam happens to an estimated 15,000 American men each year, and our government and the courts are doing nothing to stop it, thereby throwing us men to the wolves and our US-born children into the garbage. Foreign women know it (check the internet for similar stories), and use us every chance they get. Please read on: I married my wife in January of 2001. Shortly before our marriage ceremony, she divulged to me that she was an illegal alien. This came as a surprise to me since she had been working in the US for the past 13 years. Although this news was disappointing, I went through with the marriage since I would be able to sponsor a green card for her as her husband. At the time, I lived in ABC and she lived in XYZ. Since she had a 16-year-old son finishing up high school in XYZ, I agreed to wait 18 months for my wife to move up to ABC to live with me. Six months after our marriage, my wife was pregnant (I had her travel with me quite often). During and after the pregnancy, my wife regularly threatened to abduct our child if I didn’t agree with her on any decisions regarding our family. Additionally, she began to indicate that she wouldn’t move to ABC with me as she had promised. During this time, I also learned that her son in high school had been abducted from his father in 1989, and had not seen his father since that time. I knew then that my wife’s threats were serious. Sure enough, three weeks before she was to move to ABC, she stormed out of our house in XYZ during a disagreement. Her last words were: “I have my baby – I don’t need you anymore!†At the time, my daughter was three months young. I immediately filed for divorce, putting a temporary restraining order on my wife to prevent her from removing my child from the X County, XYZ. My wife continued to blackmail me with the child, indicating that I would not see my child again if I withdrew her green card application. I called her bluff and withdrew the application, trusting the INS to enforce the law. The INS did nothing, despite hundreds of phone calls and dozens of letters that I sent. I finally contacted my Congressman and Senator to get the INS to investigate my wife and her background (more on this in a minute…). My wife is now in removal hearings, and I have collected three inches of evidence I have on her regarding the fact that she: 1) has what appears to be a phony Social Security Number 2) has used falsified documents to get employment and go to college 3) has collected unemployment benefits from the X Workforce Commission 4) has held a X driver’s license for the past six years 5) deliberately overstayed her visa 6) has harbored about a dozen other illegals in various houses 7) has apparently never filed a federal income tax return 8) has attempted in her second marriage to coerce her husband to get her a green card (fortunately for him, he didn’t get her pregnant) 9) lives in a 2500 square foot house with at least ten other people (mostly illegals), where there are bunk beds in almost every room, including the dining room 10) worked in a law firm for seven years where she learned how to use loopholes in immigration law and family law to extort, blackmail, and then destroy her US-born husband’s lives and careers if she didn’t get her way. 11) Is using her US-born daughter to get the INS to give her a green card, and to force very extensive child support payments from me ($1200 per month tax free, and my daughter is wearing hand-me-downs from my wife’s nieces!). Despite all this, I cannot submit a single page of my evidence to the INS. Why? Because my wife has now filed a petition to get a green card based on a false allegation that I had abused her while we were married. The Violence Against Women’s Act (VAWA) assumes that I am guilty until I can prove myself innocent. Of course, there are no police or medical records indicating that I ever laid a hand on my wife, simply because I never did! Nevertheless, the VAWA laws now prohibit me from: 1) being in the courtroom when my wife is tried by the INS 2) finding out what her claim is as to why she can stay in the US 3) finding out anything about her case with the INS 4) finding out what claim she filed against me regarding spousal abuse 5) acting as a witness against her in the INS court 6) submitting any evidence to the INS court 7) defending myself against any claim she has made about me The evidence that my wife can submit for this claim appears to be as flimsy as getting one of her sisters to write a note saying that I used to beat her up all the time! Her immigration attorney, by the way, was provided to my wife for free by the Catholic Charities Organization – a group to whom I donated $1000 to this year. My wife, by the way is no charity case. When I last checked, she had over $27,000 in the bank. I have no idea how she acquired that kind of money. So here’s my wife’s situation: after contributing nothing to this country, and after lying to the federal government about leaving our borders in a timely fashion, and after abducting a child from a man who loved his son, and after destroying two American men with divorces and blackmail, and after lying to employers, schools, the X Workforce Commission, the X Division of Motor Vehicles, and after abducting a second child (US-born) to extort money and actions out of me, and after paying no taxes, she gets to live with her illegal ‘family’ (its actually more like a gang) with me making her "family’s" house payments, and providing her and her son with all the utilities and food they need, possibly for the next 18 years! By the way: my wife feels so comfortable about America now, that she’s decided not to work anymore. Instead, she’s enrolled as a full-time student at X College, where illegals are encouraged to apply. She and her illegal son have had it made ever since I signed up to be a sperm donor and a wallet! My wife has learned that this is the land of opportunity, and is apparently spreading the word. Her sister is now trying to get her US husband to buy her a house before she will divorce him (I’ve never seen him or any of the original husbands that belonged to three of my wife’s sisters – only the children are ‘left behind’). I am sure that they are all high-fiving each other saying, “You got de money, you got de baby, and you don’ got to pay nobody nothin’, and that stupid fool can’t do nothing to you cause deze Americans are so-o-o-o stupid! Yeah! You de girl!†(Yes – I’ve heard them talk this way many times!) Meanwhile, my daughter sits in a filthy corner of the house, unaware that she is being robbed of her birthright as a US citizen, and is in danger at any time of being smuggled to a third-world country or to some ghetto in the US to live a fugitive life with my sociopathic wife. Thank you for reading my story this far. There are even more details of this story that I left out to try to keep things brief. I am sending this story out to as many journalists as I can find so that we can turn this into a publishable story that will allow other men and women in my situation to band together in a unified voice to congress to help us, and hopefully to save other people from this awful fate. Also, together we might be able to figure out some solutions for each other. I hurt very badly from this situation, and for the first time in my life, hate to wake up in the morning. I guess my mistake was to actually believe that I would succeed in this American society by working my tail off in engineering school and building a solid life so that I could be raped by some lowlife alien and the US courts. Thank you for your help with this. Sincerely, Bill 12/29/02

It's stories like this that make my blood boil and illegal supporters say "they are not hurting anybody"..I guess that little girl is a nobody. .. America is now a country of caring more about the rights of criminals than they do about the victims. I do understand this law to an extent but I know another illegal I met last year who used that excuse to justify getting what she wanted. She has $27,000 in the bank and she all this free stuff (including a college education).. That's where supporters of illegals are not getting it. Most of those illegals have more money in the bank than 10 of us Americans put together.. It sounds like she achieved her better life..by stealing everything from her husband the girl is the one who will suffer in all of this.

I finally contacted my Congressman and Senator to get the INS to investigate my wife and her background (more on this in a minute…). skip if you cannot bare to read above 5 seconds The Police Department has one officer who only uses 287(g) for major criminal investigations, Police Chief Jose L. Lopez Sr. said. Durham police processed 59 people through the program last year for homicide, sexual assault and other major crimes. "There are many people in this city that are involved in criminal acts, major criminal acts, and we have to have ways to take them out of this area," he said. The Durham jail currently does not use Secure Communities, but under state law, anyone brought to a jail with a felony or an impaired driving offense charge must have his or her immigration status confirmed by jailers, Martin said. A February report by the American Civil Liberties Union of North Carolina and the UNC School of Law detailed problems with the state's 287(g) program, including immigrants being deported for not having a driver's license. The program was designed for the worst criminals. Driver's licenses were one of the main concerns of attendees who submitted questions for the panel, which included Katy Strait Chavez, a Wake County immigration lawyer who has represented more than 300 people arrested under the 287(g) program. Lopez, who spoke in Spanish, advised attendees not to drive without a valid license. Chavez said drivers should only be cited, not arrested, if they have proper identification, such as a passport. Other questions Wednesday included whether some police officers are prejudiced and what to do if police illegally search a home. Some wondered if a person who gets arrested will be deported even if he or she is found innocent in court. That is up to immigration officials, said Lopez, who added that officers are only "looking for people we know that are involved in major crimes and put them in jail for the things we can prove." He stressed the importance of trusting police enough to report crimes. Residents don't have to give their names, he said. "The community knows what's going on," he said. "They know who's working. Who's trafficking. Who's stealing. Who's got the guns. They stop when they see me because they know I'm not going to accept it. But they know communities where they do accept it and accept it by saying nothing." Lopez's assurances weren't enough for Maria Hernandez. "We know that some people are involved in criminal acts but they still have to check the backgrounds of every person," said Hernandez, 39, in Spanish. "And that's why people are afraid because they're going to check them. What usually happens is when you end up in the government, they're going to check your immigration status and from then on they can come to you when they have those programs to catch undocumented people." http://www.thedurhamnews.com/news/story/198358.html

Something similar to this had happened in Georgia, where I currently reside, recently. When George Bush made new protection laws after the 911 attack, it made it possible to detain and deport any illegal for driving while unlicensed. Apparently, recently the Department of Immigration decide that officers had misinterpreted the meaning of the new protection laws, and were deporting left and right, when in turn, these laws were only meant to detain and deport severe criminals, or criminals who had committed more than a misdemeanor. These laws, had in fact been used at several thousands of unconstitutional road blocks, in order to detain/deport as many illegal unlicensed drivers as possible, and several police departments have since been under investigation. So, basically they have now said they will cease in checking every person brought in on a misdemeanor charge. Which I believe is a totally correct procedure, I believe it was about time someone investigated unlawful use by the local police stations.

Hi. The ride should be about four hours. My advice to you is the just RELAX. I get panic attacks. Bring a cell phone, so you can contact your parents if you're really upset. What I find helps me is to just get my mind off of it. Listening to music usually works the best for me. Also if you talk to the other kids that are going, you can forget what you were upset about it. Who knows... someone else may be very nervous too. If there is a teacher you can trust, tell them about your attacks and they may be able to calm you down. As for getting to sleep, if you take half of a tylenol PM, that will make you fall asleep. Good luck and enjoy yourself! You'll have a fun time as long as you let yourself. Hope this helped! [:

Probation revoked for UNC murder suspect. Your thoughts?
Probation revoked for UNC murder suspect. Your thoughts?
Posted: Today at 10:15 a.m. Updated: 21 minutes ago Raleigh, N.C. — Probation was revoked Thursday for a man charged in the March 5 shooting death of University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's student body president Through his attorney Rudy Renfer, Demario James Atwater, 21, admitted to violating his probation stemming from a Feb. 16, 2005, conviction of felony breaking and entering and larceny. He was on 36 months' probation for that conviction when he was convicted in Granville County on June 28, 2007, for possession of a firearm by a felon. That put him in violation of the terms of his release. Atwater also entered an Alford plea to charges that he violated his probation in Granville County. The judge ordered those prior suspended sentences activated, putting Atwater back in jail for 20 to 25 months. Renfer said Atwater did not think he was still on probation at the time of his Granville County conviction because probation officers from Wake County had not been in contact with him. It was a lack of supervision, he said, that caused Atwater not to pay fines, do community service or report to school or work because no one was making contact with him to tell him what to do. "They let him fall off the face of the probation map," Renfer said. It's called personal responsibility. That's something that Mr. Demario James Atwater obviously doesn't comprehend. ( o _ 0 )

Makes me wonder once again what it is that makes people think that they are not responsible for their own lives. It's always someone else's fault. The school, the government, the people in the community name it and they blame it. The things gone wrong in their lives is because of the "system" and not because they couldn't be ar*ed to take control of their own lives and do something about it. Why can't people just face the facts and why do they think that they don't have personal responsibility to begin with. Where did they get the idea? (*grrr*)
Please look over? and what is a good title? thanks. :)?
It was a cold February morning in a small town in Minnesota. “Buzz! Buzz! Buzz! my alarm screeched. I began to slowly open my eyes when I remembered what the weatherman had promised. Snow. I jumped out of bed and looked out my window. A thick white shimmering blanket of white snow covered everything. I immediately began the search around my room to find my remote control. It was hiding from me, not wanting me to know if there was a reason to be excited. Not wanting me to know if today would be a snow day. As I continued to frantically search my bedroom my younger sister walked in. “Are you looking for this? she asked and laughed as she picked up the remote, half hidden by my clothes on the floor. “Yes! I yelled happily. I grabbed the remote from her hands and quickly turned on the television. I was already on our local radio’s channel. As I half listened to how our high school’s wrestling team did I hoped and wished for a snow day inside my head. Snow days were always fun, but our town rarely had them. Our superintendent was in charge of calling it off but never thought even the worst blizzards were “that bad. For him to even consider calling it off, all the schools within a forty-five mile radius had to be closed first. “And now our weather related news, the radio host announced. My sister and I listened to him intently. “Jackson County Central Schools are two hours late today. Two hours late. I sighed. Two hours late was definitely a good thing, but a snow day would be so much better. There was plenty of snow on the… “Wait, the announcer interrupted my thoughts. “We’ve just gotten a new school closing. Jackson County Central Schools are now closed. My sister and I screamed with joy. I anxiously called my neighbor Cody. “Cody! Cody! Did you hear? “Hmm? Mmm, he responded sleepily. “Wake up! “I’m up, I’m up. What is it? “It’s a snow day today! “Really? That’s awesome! “Yeah! What should we do today? “Hmm, sledding? I remembered the last snow day. It was last year. All my friends and I got together and brought all our sleds and inner tubes and anything we could find to Hospital Hill, one of the steepest hills around. As you stood at the top of the hill and looked down, you could feel the excitement build inside you. Then you put your sled down. The slippery snow would send it down without you if you didn’t hold on tight. Then was the hard part, jumping in. You had to be quick, and it was hard to land just right, but the next thing you knew you were flying down the gigantic hill. You were going so fast that all you could see was the dark blur of a few trees and all white. The cold wind stung your face, yet you couldn’t help but smile. All the way down was the most amazing, invigorating experience of your life. “Sledding is a lot of fun, I said to Cody, “but we should think of something new; something even better. “Okay, meet me at my house in ten. I’ll call Andy too. “See you. I hung up the phone before he could respond. I was so excited for my snow day to begin. I ran through my living room, the hallway, and into the kitchen. I almost tripped while scrambling down the basement stairs. Finally, I reached the closet. I got out my boots, snow pants, hat, gloves, and my warmest coat and put them all on. By the time I was all dressed I felt like a mummy. I could barely move my arms and legs. Getting back upstairs was probably the hardest part, but I did it, then I left out my backdoor and slowly waddled like a penguin over to Cody’s house. By the time I got there, my cheeks were pink from the bitter air. I met Andy and Cody sitting on Cody’s front steps as the cold winter wind brushed against my face. “Hey guys! “Hey, they responded in unison. I looked around and asked, “So what are we going to do today? “Well, we could go sledding in the ravine, build a snow man, or have a snowball fight, Cody replied. “What about an igloo? Andy asked. “Okay, yeah! I said, “Let’s do it. We had no idea where to start, because none of us had ever made an igloo before. We all started taking handfuls of snow and putting them in a tall pile in Cody’s yard, but soon realized this would be a lot of work. “Hey, look over here! Cody shouted to us. On the corner of his yard, next to street, was a huge pile of snow the snowplows must have left. It seemed as if we read each other’s mind because we all abandoned our old small mound of snow and began to pack and shape this big pile. We had to make sure it was perfectly packed so it wouldn’t fall apart when we started carving out the inside. It took a while, but finally we decided it was good enough. Next, we would have to turn our rounded, packed down, huge lump of snow into an actual igloo. Andy started to dig into the side with his hands, but seemed to be going nowhere. There had to be a better way. “Hmm, Cody said to himself and walked into his garage. He soon came back out with three metal metal shovels. We each snatched one and got to work. Shovel. That’s all we did for hours. Or was it days? Weeks? It seemed like forever. The center was the worst. The hard, compacted snow had almost completely turned into one solid chunk of ice. We all kept working. Shoveling, and shoveling, and shoveling. And then something amazing happened. We realized it was no longer just a pile of snow. It actually looked like an igloo. We admired out work while standing outside the entrance. It was the most fantastic, glittering, beautiful thing we had ever seen. We had made it ourselves. Our whole snow day afternoon had been devoted to building this creation, and finally we were finished. We all ran into the igloo, wanted to see what it looked like from inside. All three of us could fit easily. We sat in a circle while we admired the bluish white walls of snow; admiring our hard work. We looked at each other and smiled. That was the best snow day I ever had.

Do you think the demarcates are going to really make things better here for Americans?
Do you think the demarcates are going to really make things better here for Americans?
I live in Milwaukee, our city has a demacratic Mayor, a commun council domanated buy demacrates, our county supervisors are predomanently demacrates, our school board is all demacrates, we have a demacrate as a district attorny, Milwaukee is a demacraticly run city and it has been for decades. Yet for a city it's size, we are tenth in the nation as a violent city, we have one of the highest teenage pregnacy rates in the nation, a few months ago we were voted the angryest city in the nation, we have one of the highest drop out rates of high school students in the nation, we were told today that over half of the ninth graders in the Milwaukee school systum are truent, we have a understaffed Police department, (which has a demacratic Police Cheif), It just goes on and on. So why do you all out there who helped put them back in charge of this country think things are going to get better, they aren't here. Maybe when we get hit again it'll be a sobering wake up call to you all.

I get so tired with hearing about Democrats versus Republicans. They're just parties who believe in their own ideals and that's the problem. Any person who makes up their mind before they hear the issue is an idiot. And don't Democrats and Republicans have their minds made up on issues before the issue is presented? Of course they do. That's why they are in the political parties that they're in. Who cares if your Milwaukee mayor is a Democrat? Who cares if it was a Republican? It doesn't matter. Having a mixture of both is good balance. Political parties destroy the fabric of America anyway. Political parties are created to sell the American people ideals, to make them comfortable, to make the people feel like they have a voice. Realistically though, political parties are shams. Do you really think that a Democrat or Republican in Washington actually cares about you in Wisconsin? If you said no, then you are correct. I have never voted a day in my life and look where it's got me --- to the same place as if I had voted. Parties are parties, politics is politics; it's a game. Politics only hurts the little man and the little man are the American people. Seriously, when you go to bed tonight, if you truly think that your Democratic Mayor cares about you, you're foolish. If you really think that any politician cares about you, you're foolish. They just fight on issues that they know you care about in order to win your vote and then they forget about you and your issues once their in office.

I don't think anybody is claiming that the Democrats are going to be able to snap their fingers and all of our problems will disappear. However, it is nice to know that the issues facing the lower and middle class are being noticed now. With regard to the war it certainly can't get any worse. I am so tired of republicans claiming, or at least insinuating, that if a Democrat had been in the white house during 9/11 that the country would not have been defended. That's not the point, the point is that we attacked the wrong people and instead of defending ourselves all we did was piss half the world off. At least with the democrats in office we will have some symbolism of diplomacy which was completely abandoned by the republicans.
